final mask upside downside

 this is a refined photoshop version of my mask, i think this looks really good after turning it upside down, it reminds me of a skull which i think  looks really cool.  I am thinking of changing the little bit in the middle of the nose as i do not think it looks that good,

Things i like are the decorative design on the white side of the face how it spirals and curves around the face, where on the black side its all cracked and chipped. This makes it look all weathered and old where the other side looks all new and pristine.

I got some of my ideas from the symbol ying and yang hence black and white but i changed it a bit with not good and evil but the past and the future, one eye sees into the past the other the future.

the mask 

The year is 1853 London England

A dark force has appeared over London, strange things were happening. a black mist was decending people where being possessed.  No one knows where  the source of this terror. The order of knights, a secret agent society that deal's with evil and demonic entity's in the city are called. Usually they deal in vampires and ghouls. The knights are sent to investigate the sight of the blackness.

John, a trainee knight in practise, was eating a sandwich when the call for all knights to move out to athe dark zone came. He armed himself and prepared for his first and  possibly last mission. The first wave of knights failed to return. John even as a trainee must now prepare to go.

They pulled up outside the edge of the dark zone near whitechapel London. John knew that things felt wrong as soon as he arrived . He took out his rifle was the first time on an active mission, in his head  he heard the voice. As he moved stealthy into a Victorian house, boom! the floor gave way "Ahhhhh" said John as he fell all the way through the floor  to the basement. As he came round he heard the voice again. " Hello" he said "whose there?" As he got up he noticed a glow in the  next room. As he moved over to the door the voice was getting louder and louder, he opened the door there was a ornate Renaissance mask  sitting on a plinth in the middle of the room. One half white with a decorative patten on it, The other half black with a white eye. The mask was very old, so old it had cracks on the surface.

He tentatively  walked over to the plinth  and picked up the mask. A note was pined to it,
it said "HELLO JOHN".

What John didn't yet know was that the mask had powers. Looking out of one eye allowed you to see  see into the past and the other  to the future,  it can give the person wearing it immortality and powers of the void. However, you have is to give up part of your soul and humanity to weald such a power.

fmp final design

For my final design i wanted to go with something that is based on both Roman and Venetian masks, i was heavily influenced by a metal mask that i found whilst researching.  i also liked  masks that were just wire and not filed in so its just wire frame.

 On Photoshop I went through a few ideas with shapes and patterns i did not do the hole mask because i could just flip it over to the other side and it would be the same 

then i wanted to see what i would look like all filled in i really liked the way it turned out because it looks more mysterious because it covers more of the face and the eyes are cover as well so you cant see peoples expressions.
